“To protect vulnerable and marginalised children and young people and to ensure that their views are heard on issues which affect them. To increase inclusion and help young people access education, care and services relating to their individual needs and concerns. Making rights a reality for young people”.
Drumchapel Children’s Rights Project
What we do
The Children’s Rights Project exists to offer independent advocacy to children and young people aged between 5 and 18 residing in the Glasgow West area.
An Advocate is someone who speaks on your behalf, putting your views and opinions forward when, for whatever reason, you feel unable to do so yourself. At CRP, our advocates are trained and experienced in working specifically with children and young people, helping with a huge range of issues.
The Children’s Rights Project can help with many issues. Our staff have experience and training in dealing with problems such as:
Exclusion from school
Alternative education
Bullying
Children’s Panels
Mental Health
Housing
If you need help and are not sure where to turn or have problems not listed above, please contact us and our staff will help in whatever way they can.
Confidentiality
Children and young people’s right to confidentiality will be respected at all times except in circumstances where, we believe, they or others may be at risk or are vulnerable. We will ask all young people to sign a form of authority which allows us to share relevant information with other agencies or individuals.
